Door and lock damage
If the door lock is ignored for a long time, it may damage the integrity of the door and other aspects of the door hardware. This applies especially to homeowners whose door locks are broken but still available. Keep in mind that not every broken door lock means that the lock is broken to the extent that it cannot be used in some minimal way. In some cases, the broken lock does not work as usual.
Whenever this happens, it is always possible to damage other parts that may spread to the door hardware and effectively damage the door. In this case, the door hardware refers to other tools and components used in conjunction with the door lock to work as expected. If you ignore the broken door lock, you will be responsible for replacing the damaged lock and replacing the damaged door, which is easy to avoid. This may refer to the door frame and the entire door itself.
An obvious example is that the door lock is broken due to problems caused by the latches not being properly aligned. This does not mean that the handle has been separated from the lock body or any shape. It is in these circumstances that even if the door lock is broken, the homeowner would like to continue using their door locks.
